The challenge

American Closet is a Shopify store, americancloset.shop, where shoppers in Lebanon order from American brands. It carries 22 brands, from Nike and Michael Kors to Calvin Klein and Tory Burch, and sources each one from its US store. Every brand lists its products on its own site, where prices and stock keep changing. Copying those products into Shopify by hand, and checking them again as they change, does not keep up.

  • Products from 22 brands, each listed on its own US store
  • Prices and stock that keep changing at the source
  • Every product to set up in Shopify by hand, with its name, description, price, and image

What we built

In 2026 we built the product sync tool: a private dashboard where American Closet's team sets up each brand with the pages to sync, whole categories or single products. Before the team starts a run, it sees a cost estimate, and every run stops at a spending cap. Runs start by hand or on a schedule in any time zone, for one brand or all of them. Each run brings in every product it finds, recognizes the ones it has seen before, and records each price change, so every product keeps its price history.

The team picks the products to send to Shopify, or lets each run send its new products automatically. The tool creates each product with its name, description, brand, price, and main image, plus its SKU and product type when the brand's site gives them. Products arrive as drafts by default, so nothing reaches the storefront before someone reviews it. Prices take a markup, and currency rates convert any price that is not in the store's currency. A product sent again updates its Shopify listing instead of creating a copy, and unchanged products are skipped.

For the products the team chooses, the Update zone keeps price and stock current. It re-checks each one on a schedule, straight from the brand's store where it can, with the stock of every size when the store publishes it, and through a fresh sync where it cannot. A product missing twice in a row is marked Not found. The zone flags every product whose price or availability changed since it was last sent, and the team pushes the changes to Shopify in one step: prices update, and sold-out and missing products go back to draft. We also handled the store's basic setup on Shopify.

In scope

  • Brand setup, by category or single product
  • Sync runs, by hand or on a schedule, with a cost estimate
  • Price history for every product
  • Shopify import with markup and currency rates
  • Update zone for price and stock
  • Basic store setup on Shopify

How it works

How a brand's product reaches the store.

  1. Step 1: Set up a brand

The team adds the brand's category pages and single products.

  2. Step 2: Sync

A run, by hand or on a schedule, brings in every product it finds.

  3. Step 3: Track prices

Each product keeps its price history across runs.

  4. Step 4: Send to Shopify

Chosen or new products go to Shopify with the markup applied.

  5. Step 5: Re-check

The Update zone re-checks price and stock and flags what changed.

  6. Step 6: Push changes

One push updates prices and takes sold-out products off the store.

Products arrive in Shopify as drafts, so the team reviews each one before it sells.

The outcome

  • Each brand's catalog synced on demand or on a schedule, with every price change recorded
  • Products sent to Shopify as drafts, with the markup and currency rates applied, and updated instead of duplicated
  • An Update zone that re-checks price and stock and flags what changed, ready to push to Shopify in one step

The project in numbers

  • 22brands set up in the tool, each synced from its US store
  • 7product details sent to Shopify, from the name and price to the main image
  • 2ways to re-check a product: straight from the brand's store, or a fresh sync
  • 8pages in the team's dashboard, from brands and runs to the Update zone
